Guestbook

We’re always glad to hear that our guests have enjoyed their stay. Here are some of their thoughts and experiences, which we hope will give you a feel of what it is like to holiday at Vue De L'Eglise.

We had such a wonderful stay! The house was beautiful and had everything we could possibly need. It really felt like a home away from home. We’d love to come back!

Michelle,

We had a fantastic stay in this lovely house. Beautiful, large, enclosed garden, which was ideal for the dogs. There was a lovely pool in the garden, which the children loved. A delightful village where you can truly unwind. We really enjoyed the surroundings and all the activities on offer: climbing, kayaking, and visiting villages. There was a supermarket around the corner where we could pick up fresh baguettes and croissants every day.

Contact with the owner was also very pleasant, both in particular and during our stay. The washing machine stopped working. They immediately looked for a solution, and a new one arrived within two days! In short: very satisfied with our stay! Highly recommended!

Andre,

Elizabeth's house is very pleasant for a quiet holiday. Very comfortable and tastefully decorated. Many visits and activities to do within a radius of 30 minutes.

Marie-Eve,

Beautiful, large gite in authentic village with wonderful views of church and sunflower fields. With deep garden, ping-pong table and 6 sun loungers. Pleasant contact with hostess. Recommended for those looking for peace and quiet!

Inge,

We were six people (2 adults and 4 children aged 15, 17, 18, and 19) staying in this wonderful home.
The authentic and very charming house has everything to make your holiday truly enjoyable.
A fully equipped kitchen, beautiful and spacious dining tables, and a large living room with a television.

Thanks to the beautiful weather, we always ate in the courtyard (old terrace), and there was plenty of ping pong played under the carport. The garden is completely fenced, making it perfect for letting the dog run around. The house also stays pleasantly cool on warm days. There’s a large BBQ available as well.

Just nearby, there’s a small shop where you can buy fresh bread every day. The surroundings are very peaceful, with several walking routes to explore. Poitiers, Angoulême, Les Marais Poitevins, Cognac, La Rochelle, Confolens, Oradour, Verteuil and Nanteuil, Cassinomagus, as well as smaller attractions, are all within reach. You can go kayaking on the Charente River in Ruffec, and there’s also a lovely vélorail through the trees in Confolens.

We thoroughly enjoyed the warm summer days in the tourist-free village of Brux, surrounded by sunflower fields where you can spot deer, roe deer, foxes, and many birds of prey every day. A beautiful, authentic part of France where the locals are friendly and easy to talk to.

For those who love peace and nature but still like to explore, this large house is the perfect place.
We had excellent communication with the owners beforehand to arrange everything.

Katrin,

We had a lovely stay at Liz's. The cottage is very nicely decorated and well-equipped and Liz is responsive and provides everything you need. Recommended!

Stephanie,

Had a lovely time here! Really spacious family home in a quaint little village. Local shop nearby if you run out of the essentials. Great things to keep the kids occupied- from board games to badminton! Within a few miles there is paddle boarding, kayaking, a monkey sanctuary and stunning French architecture. Had a great time with the family here- would recommend!

Emily,

We had a wonderful week at Vue de L’Eglise, a charming, spacious house, beautifully renovated, full of home comforts, in the peaceful village of Brux. Well placed to enjoy the many local activities, canoeing, the monkey sanctuary (the children loved this!) picnicking, lake swimming. This is a really beautiful area to explore, especially Confolens, Coulon and the beaches of La Rochelle. A week is not enough!
